F.S. Darrow has written  a series of thorough articles on Orphism in the Theosophical Path during the years 1912-1913.  I have merged the pdfs of these articles in one big pdf and added an introduction. Of particular importance is his study of the Zagreus-Dionysos myth. Neo-Platonic scholars can find much material here to study.
Topics: Orphism, Orpheus, Eurydice, Zagreus, Dionysos

Gerald Massey was an eminent and independent Egyptologist. He has researched and documented many features and symbols of Egyptian religion and myth in comparison with Christian symbols and stories. He was important to Alvin Boyd Kuhn who took Massey's work one step further as portrayed in "The Pagan Christ" from Tom Harpur. It seems that christianity is to a large extent a copy of pagan religion and myth. If this work serves to give some understanding of the original Gnostic themes in...

This is the only translation of Proclus masterwork Platonic Theology, consisting of six books plus one added by Thomas Taylor. It is the main work of Proclus and should be studied together with his commentaries on the Timaeus and Parmenides. Its depth can be hardly overrated and you may need to study some textbooks on Proclus such as Lucas Siorvanes "Neo-Platonic Philosophy and science". Proclus has influenced Western society through his writings, especially by his pupil, the...

The Enneads, a work from the great philosopher Plotinus, has exerted a considerable influence on Western civilization, including our present time. Plotinus himself was taught by Ammonius Saccas, the "theodidactos", or God-taught philosopher in Alexandria who brought several philosophical systems together in his Neo-Platonic School. Those of this School were known as the "Philalethians" (lovers of the truth); while others named them the "Analogists," on account of...

The Aurora is Jacob Boehme's first book. It introduces many of his ideas, and some of Boehme's explanations about nature, human and divine, can only be found in this, his first book. There are many themes in common with the theosophical neo-platonic tradition of Ammonius Saccas, Plotinus, Porphyry, Iamblichus and Proclus, as well as with the Kabbalistic tradition. Hierarchies, the emanation (generation) of Cosmos, angelic kingdoms, trinities, signatura, ideation, duality, transformation can all...

Book that shows the essential nature of the human being and how one can direct the mind to the inner worlds. Contains the germs of a new integrative model for science, philosophy and psychology, continued to be developed in my blog. See book for reference. Spiritual evolution, biological evolution, mental-cognitive evolution. Some attention is paid to the work of Arthur Young (fourfold model), John Bennett (systematics), and ancient ideas about life.

This is probably Jacob Boehme's most instructive work, containing the bulk of his ideas, elaborated in his later works. He treats of the original matrix, or genetrix, concerning the birth of love, the wisdom of God, the angelical world, Lucifer, Paradise, true knowledge, Christian life, Christ's testaments, the broad and narrow way, prayer and fasting, death and dying, God's blessing in this world. James Morgan Pryse discusses the question of the authenticity of the gospel stories. He makes a strong case for these stories being disfigured copies of ancient Greek mystery plays concerning initiation rites. The introduction to his book will get you started. His knowledge of ancient Greek culture and religion, coupled with his vast metaphysical knowledge and understanding, makes for cogent arguments. A true classic in the field of religious studies! Part one: The Anointing of Iesous (Jesus),...
